I offer therapy that is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you.
I work from the belief that meaningful change happens within a strong therapeutic relationship, one where you feel understood, respected, and supported. Together, we focus on what matters most to you, clarify your goals, and work toward changes that improve how you feel and function in everyday life.
I provide short to medium-term therapy grounded in a strong mental health and trauma-informed framework, with particular experience supporting adults and youth with ADHD, general mental health concerns and emotional regulation difficulties.
Sarah's Approach
I provide evidence-based talking therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside working within a polyvagal-informed framework that integrates an understanding of the nervous system. This means we consider not only what you’re thinking, feeling, and doing, but also how your body and nervous system respond to stress, connection, and safety.
By combining CBT with nervous system awareness, I support you from both a brain and body perspective. This approach can help you develop practical strategies to navigate mental health challenges and the demands of everyday life. Our work may include gaining insight into thinking patterns, beliefs, personal narratives, behaviour, and body sensations that may be contributing to or protecting you.
I have a particular interest in anxiety, trauma, and youth and adult ADHD. I also bring a general understanding of psychiatric medications and their role within broader mental health care. I am experienced in using neuro-affirming approaches and am an international member of the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA).
My approach is shaped by two complementary professional backgrounds. I bring significant experience as a health professional, with a strong understanding of physical and mental health, illness, and disability, grounded in many years of working within health and rehabilitation systems. This sits alongside my work as a talking-based therapist and counsellor.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, reflective, empowering, and practical. I draw on both my health and therapy backgrounds to tailor my work to your individual needs, particularly if you are navigating mental health challenges, neurodiversity, or physical health concerns.
